Greetings all friends. I have not forgotten my family here on CS. Just sooooo much has been going on. As we know in this messed up time and bad economy many are either looseing thier homes or doing without. We are also among those even in this family. Jen has not found a job even yet, and next month will be a year that she has been out of work. I had to take a summer job, and that barely makes the bills, but at least I have something comeing in. My time lately has been sooo limited because of work, and trying to design a new model airplane and get it completed before Sept, 10th. I know how to put myself under pressure. I have drawn everything up and had the parts laser cut, just building takes time. But enough of that. I keep seeing signs from the Goddess and Gods that things will be well. The baby Raven a few months back as well as another of my totem birds. The Blue Heron. One actually landed on my boat a few weeks back. I take that as a good omen, but have not for the life of me decided just what that may be. I am hopeing that things will turn around soon and that we will be able to breath. There is just too much going on to even catch my breath before I am running like crazy again. Well I am off to begin my two hour run back to the dock. I will check back soon I promise
A baby Raven in my life
Something here that has me pondering the meaning and makeing me go HMMMMM. While driveing home tonight after picking up the daughter I spoted a baby crow in the road. I turned around to get a good look at him. He was standing there in the road crying out to his parents. They did not come until I was there. I tried giveing him a piece of hamburger bun. He didn't want that and started crying louder. Mamma and pappa started flying around and screaming so I picked up the little guy to get him out of the road. I wanted sooooooo bad to bring the guy home but I have 12 fur kids with claws and love the taste of meat. I would love to have this bird as it is one of my totem animals. So now I have to ponder. What is the meaning of finding holding and then releasing a totem? Anyone want to jump in on this? I will have to research the raven/crow connection. I know in the Celtic world it can signify a new begining or an end. I believe this may be a new begining due to the young age of this very beautiful bird. Now to see what the Godess and Gods bring from this.
Life and the economy suck
Well for the mostpart Jen is doing good. She still has back pain from the accident. She went to see a lawyer yesterday. The Insurance company i trying to bend us over a barrel on the repairs to her car, and we wont stand for it. hat as well has been turned over to the lawyer to resolve. A body shop we took it to refused to do a certain portion of work before proceeding with work, They then refused to do anything to the car and told us to remove it, but want 1200 bucks before we can do that. It is all becomeing a nightmare. I went back to my fishing, and have been visited by the fish cops twice now. The first time was while we were still working. The second time was wednesday. I got a warning ticket for having oversized oyster on the boat. Ended up saying screw it I dont have time to resort the load and dumped the whole damn thing overboard. That was a loosing day for me. Ended up going backwards. The reeal problem here is that the head of aquaculture is dragging his feet in reclassifying the river I work in. We have had the river tested and the oyster come up cleaner than most area's. This is becomeing worse every day. I can not afford a ticket and can barely afford going out every day trying to make money. Makes one sit back and ponder just what they are going to do. Well thats enough ranting for now. I have to get to the boat and make no money again today. I am hopeing I can at least make enough to pay the deckhand and fuel.
Thanks for peoples responses and what's happening
Thank you everyone for your kind words for Jen. I did relay the message to her. Well yesterday I got to spend the day on my fishing boat. Wasn't doing oysters but gathering none the less. Three town promote a program called river cleanup. It is where we collect trash and debris along the riverbank. The three participating towns were Shelton, Stratford and Milford. Not sure how much the Milford or Shelton Crews picked up, but I know what we did in Stratford. My boat hauled four loads of garbage. The deck of my boat is 20 feet long and 9 feet wide. Three feet high. Gives you an idea how much I had on there. Anyways we had 83 people sign up for the cleanup, even though it was a raw day with some nasty east wind we did good. They had already removed a large quantity of trash from the pile we had made, but it kept coming in. we didn't finish until 4 pm so it was a very long day. I am glad we did get what we did, but there is still soo much more to be done. Only problem is now the birds will be nesting, and we can not get near them to do the clean-up. Almost every oyster boat from the marina was out there. I believed it was a good thing and am glad I did it.
Beltaine and blah
Ok again I am sorry I haven't posted much lately. My fishing was closed down for two months and I had taken another job. 12 hour shifts begining at 6pm. Those really sap everything from you. Fast forward to my last night on the boat. Jen was on her way to school Wednesday night. A drunk driver tried to hit her head on but she just missed him hitting the front of her car. He slammed into the drivers side and creamed her Honda Civic. I am waiting to hear from his insurance company now. She is ok except for being sore in her kneck, back and left leg/arm. The car however is done. This brings us to Beltaine. We didn't get to do anything for it because she was hurting.
